Students must apply to be admitted into the Environmental Studies with GIS Emphasis BA, GIS Certificate (Undergraduate and Graduate) and Minor programs.

Admission to these programs is competitive and space may be limited.

Undergraduate & Graduate GIS Certificate

Applications to both the graduate and undergraduate GIS certificates are accepted once a quarter on November 1st, February 1st, and May 1st. All courses must be completed with a grade of B- or better.

Undergraduates must complete or be currently enrolled in ENVS 320 or equivalent class at time of application.

Graduates must have completed their B.A. or B.S. degree and must be currently enrolled in a M.A. or M.S. degree on the WWU Bellingham campus. Eligible students must also have a basic knowledge of statistics equivalent to an introductory undergraduate statistics course. Graduates must also complete or be currently enrolled in ENVS 517 or equivalent class at time of application.

GIS Minor
