I teach GIS and statistical courses as well as graduate level natural resource courses. I received a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Arizona and an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon.

Research Interests

My current research centers on developing techniques for mapping and analyzing complex biophysical processes such as forest fires, avalanche hazards, and other disturbances. I am also very interested in the relationship between fire and human evolution.
