Scholarships and Funding Opportunities
Students have access to a range of scholarship opportunities through the APA, the College of the Environment, and Western Washington University.
Planning Specific Scholarships:
The APA Washington Chapter scholarship is available to urban planning majors. Applications are usually due in spring quarter.
The Northwest Section Board of the WA APA offers an annual internship with a $500 stipend to one student. The student supports the board by writing a newsletter, periodically surveying section members, and finding speakers for the quarterly forums. Visit the American Planning Association Scholarship – Northwest Section webpage for more information.
College of the Environment Scholarships:
The College of the Environment’s Scholarship and Funding Opportunities webpage has a number of annual scholarships available to all college majors. The application to apply to all scholarships is open once a year in early January. There is one common application to complete for many of the scholarships.
Western Washington University Scholarships:
Check WWU’s Scholarship Center for a wide range of funding opportunities available to all WWU students. Some scholarships are specifically for first year and transfer students and current undergraduate and graduate students, special interest scholarships, and funding resources for undocumented students.
WWU’s Financial Aid Office provides information on a wide range of aid at their website. Options include grants, scholarships, federal student loans, federal parent loans, private loans, and student work study.
