About

My work is to evaluate wild fish for adverse exposure to toxicants such as oil pollution and road-runoff (stormwater) derived chemicals (e.g., 6PPD-q). I utilize bioinformatics to link exposure to physiological responses and their corresponding gene expression signals using transcriptomics and functional genomics. My work focuses on endangered Pacific salmon and forage fish such as Pacific herring, surf smelt, and polar cod. I have also studied ecosystem ecology, fish reproductive physiology, fish husbandry, and host–pathogen interactions.
