College of the Environment Standing Committees

To apply to join any committees below, please fill out an application by October 12th.

Here's a resource on Robert's Rules of Order, which may come into play in how committee meetings are conducted.

As a student member, if you're unable to attend a committee meeting, let one of your College of the Environment AS Student Senators know and they may be able to sit in for you.

Academic Technology Committee

There shall be a College Academic Technology Committee (ATC) consisting of two (2) faculty, one from each branch, and two (2) College of the Environment student, one from each Branch, and two (2) staff members from the College.

Diversity & Community Affairs Committee

There shall be one Diversity and Community Affairs Committee, whose membership is as follows: two (2) faculty, one from each Branch, the (1) College of the Environment’s Diversity Recruiter & Retention Specialist, one (1) additional staff member from the College, one (1) College of the Environment undergraduate student from each Branch, and one (1) graduate student from the College.

Curriculum Committee

College of the Environment shall have a Curriculum Committee consisting of three (3) faculty members from the ESCI Branch, selected by the Branch faculty where at least one member is a department chair; three (3) faculty members from the ENVS/UEPP Branch, selected by the Branch faculty, where at least one member is a department chair; the (1) Undergraduate Advisor, two (2) additional staff, one from each Branch, and two (2) College of the Environment students, one from each Branch.

Personnel Committee

There shall be a College Personnel Committee that deals with matters involving College faculty. The committee will consist of six (6) tenured faculty, three from each Branch and the (1) Operations Manager (non‐voting).

There shall be a College Policy Committee, whose membership includes the Dean (non‐voting), the Operations Manager (non‐voting), three (3) faculty members from the ESCI Branch, selected by the Branch faculty where at least one member is a department chair; three (3) faculty members from the ENVS/UEPP Branch, selected by the Branch faculty, where at least one member is a department chair; two (2) College of the Environment students, one from each Branch (if possible, represented by the College of the Environment student Senators) elected by the College; and two (2) staff members from the College, elected by the staff.
