Join the WWU Ecological Restoration Club and WWU Outback Farm on Saturday, May 31, noon - 5 p.m., for a celebration of Sehome Hill Arboretum.

Interpretive Hikes led by WWU Faculty
No registration required - arrive at the Outback Farm Outdoor Classroom before your preferred hike time.
Time: Departing on the half-hour between 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Duration: Each hike lasts approximately 45 minutes
Geology-Based Hike πͺ¨ - Led by Paul Thomas (Senior Instructor), others TBD
Explore the arboretum's unique geological past, from a prehistoric tropical floodplain to an uplifted, deformed, and glacially sculpted hill.
Ecology-Based Hike πΏπ² - Led by Elizabeth Binney (Senior Instructor), John Tuxill, and others TBD
Discover native plants, forest ecosystem functions, and restoration efforts taking place in the arboretum
Birdwatching Hike π¦ - Led by Greg Green (Senior Instructor), others TBD
Observe and identify local bird species and their ecological roles.
Riparian Restoration Volunteer Work Party
Time: Ongoing throughout the event
Help restore the riparian ecosystem in the Outback Farm by removing invasive plants. No experience needed - tools and guidance provided!
Drop in anytime to lend a hand and support local habitat restoration!
Plant Print T-Shirt Printing
Time: Ongoing throughout the event
Create unique plant-printed T-shirts; use leaves and flowers to design a one-of-a-kind print.
Bring your own T-shirt, or limited extras will be available on-site.
Live Music and Food Truck!
